From the bowels the Chicago, IL underground arises BLACK SEPTEMBER. Inspired by the blackened sounds of Bathory, Dissection as well as the crust punk fueled heavy roots of His Hero Is Gone and Bolt Thrower, The Forbidden Gates Beyond is one pummeling debut of an album.
Fronted by classically trained vocalist Jen McMorrow, BLACK SEPTEMBER formed five years ago and have over that period unleashed several self released EPs before developing a full touring line-up that went on to record The Forbidden Gates Beyond. Touring with Unearthly Trance and Skeletonwitch followed the recording of debut album, which saw the band sign to Prosthetic Records early in 2001.

A truly venomous recording, captured at Bricktop Studios in Chicago by Andy Nelson and mastered by Colin Jordan (Nachtmystium, Minsk, Gates Of Slumber). Full touring will coincide with the album throughout 2011,
